EXCEL – POWER QUERY Level - Advanced

MICROSOFT – POWER BI DESKTOP, LEVEL 1 Level - Advanced This course introduces the visualisation layer of Microsoft’s Power BI Desktop called Dashboards. It also introduces formulas (called measures) using the DAX (Data Analysis eXpressions) language. Why attend? • Learn about the components of Power BI Desktop • Learn how to connect to source data • Understand the data model • Add fields to the data model • Perform calculations using DAX (Data Analysis eXpressions) • Create dynamic reports using the built-in visualisations. Note: You must attend Microsoft-Power BI Desktop, Level 1, before attending Level 2. You may also be interested in our Turn Data into Compelling Visual Presentations course on page 16. Course details: 1 day 9.00am – 4.30pm MICROSOFT - POWER BI DESKTOP, LEVEL 2 Level - Advanced This course builds on the Power BI Desktop - Level 1 course. It introduces more advanced DAX (Data Analysis eXpressions) concepts including variables, takes a deeper look at how functions are evaluated, analyses data over time using Time-Intelligence functions and introduces more advanced visualisations concepts. Why attend? • Learn how to build complex DAX formulas using variable and advanced functions • Gain an understanding of how functions are evaluated • Create formulas to analyse data over a period of time using Time-Intelligence functions • Learn how to create dynamic visualisations using report themes, conditional formatting and KPI’s. Pre-requisite: You must attend Microsoft-Power BI Desktop, Level 1 before attending this course. Course details: 1 day 9.00am – 4.30pm

With Power Query, discover, connect to and import data into Microsoft Excel. Then, using PowerPivot, remodel and enhance the imported data by writing queries through Power Query M language. Why attend? • Connect to a variety of data sources and extract data • Group and summarise data • Transpose and unpivot complex data • Automate refreshing • Understand basic Power Query formulas and the M language. Course details: ½ day 9.00am – 12.30pm EXCEL – KPI DASHBOARDS Level - Advanced Microsoft Excel is the main tool for many people working with financial information and this course introduces the financial tools and formulas available in Excel. Why attend? • Gain an understanding of what type of data is required to be collected and how best to format in order to create useful Key Performance Indicators (KPI) Dashboards • Learn how to access, construct and order nested and concatenated formulas in order to turn simple collated data into suitable KPI Dashboard data • Learn how to convert KPI Dashboard data into effective reporting graphs and PivotTables which can be used in forecasting and performance review meetings. Course details: 2 days 9.00am – 4.30pm
